Our range of heart templates
We have chosen 12 different templates, which consist of different hole combinations to suit different applications. We can make any hole combination on request, however these 12 are the ones we feel offer a good variety of looks and design options. Our template page shows images of our templates along side examples of how they can look when decorated.
Our hearts are made from 1.5mm thick sheet metal and measure 240mm wide and 310mm tall. They are beautifully made, very solid and tactile and will last for many years.

Types of metal finish
Stainless Steel
Our stainless steel hearts come in three finishes. Satin, brushed and super mirror polished. They all reflect the light and give different looks throughout the day. Stainless steel is rust resistant and therefore these can be hung inside or outside. Care should be taken not to scratch the surface and these can be cleaned with a damp soft cloth or duster. A stainless steel cleaner can also be used.
SATIN

The satin stainless steel finish is a smooth and even polished finish with no pattern. It is a silver colour and shimmers in sunlight.
BRUSHED

The brushed stainless steel finish has subtle vertical brush lines, which adds a dimension to the finish. This finish is often used in kitchens on items such as ovens and hobs or light switches.
MIRROR POLISHED

The mirror polished finish is very reflective and will reflect backgrounds in front of it and is very beautiful as it catches the light.
Other metal finishes
For a more industrial look, mild steel can be treated to look more weathered or blackened using a chemical to produce a black oxide coating which gives a matt black finish. Mild steel can be left to rust naturally in the open air where moisture and oxygen will cause a gradual rusting process. This can be sealed with an oil or lacquer to prevent further rusting.
Weathering steel, often called corten steel can be used to create a stable external layer of rust, which gives a nice even orange rust finish. Steel can be powder coated in any colour. The coating can be sealed to protect it from damage.
Our hearts can be made from other sheet metals such as brass or copper. These can make a fantastic statement piece.
BRASS – This heart looks lovely in brass and would look great in a kitchen where brass taps and handles have been used. Copper would also look nice in a kitchen, especially to match copper pans.

WEATHERED – This steel heart has been weathered using a simple solution of vinegar and salt. This gives a more robust surface for using in the garden as a windchime or stood in a plant pot for flower support. This finish would also be well suited to fresh flower floral arrangements.

POWDER COATED – This heart has been powder coated in black to give a matt finish. The beauty of this is that any colour can be used. This finish is more suited to our home décor simple hearts, which are not used for crafting, and are simply hung up as they are.

RUSTED – Rusted hearts will look great in the garden as wall art or hanging windchimes. They would look great as a set of 3 in a garden seating area.
The Perfect Gift
Hearts to Love make the perfect gift for a loved one and can be cherished forever. Our Gifts and Occasions page shows ideas for Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries and Baby Showers.

Home & Garden
Our Home and Garden page shows how our hearts look in the home. They can be hung as a set or individually and can be decorated to suit any colour scheme.

Floristry
Our floristry page shows ideas for fresh flowers using floral foam. Floristry using artificial flowers and dried flowers is also becoming very popular as they will last longer. A heart used for fresh flowers can be used again and again by adding more fresh flowers or dried flowers and other decorations.

Crafting
Our Crafting page shows ideas for crafting such as crotchet, macrame and flower arranging. There is a feast of materials which can be used such as dried flowers, paper flowers and beads. From dried lavender and herbs to a special keepsake such as a photo or jewellery, all can be added.
